Abe Sapien uncovers further details of his origins, as the most significant secret in a decade of Hellboy comics begins to unfold. The other members of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense are introduced to their new team leader, a once-deceased Pentagon special operative, as they settle into their new headquarters to address the persistent frog plague. Meanwhile, as Abe Sapien searches for clues about his past, the B.P.R.D. relocates to Colorado. Following Hellboy's exit from the Bureau, Dr. Manning presents the new Field Team Leader, Ben Daimio, a man who has been mysteriously resurrected after suffering a fatal injury.
