Batman and Robin #16 (Vol 2) Death of the Family

In the depths of Gotham Zoo, Robin is distressed to discover that his father, Batman, has fallen prey to Joker Venom and is now coming to attack him. Refusing to engage in combat, Robin believes he can overcome the Joker's mind control. However, the Joker warns that the only way out is for Batman to be killed. Recalling Sun Tzu's teachings, Robin chooses to assert his own will rather than succumb to the will of his adversary. He uses a Batarang to trigger a mechanism, opening a hole in the ground and providing an escape route. Both Batman and the Joker follow as Robin races towards the polar bear enclosure. Batman knocks him into the frigid water, while the Joker watches from below through the viewing glass. They struggle and eventually make it back to shore, where Robin finally decides that if he can't reason with his father, he will fight his father.
