THE SECRET OF THE CHEETAH CHAPTER TWO In the Congo, the Justice League engages in battle with a Cheetah-infected Superman, only to be halted by the "San Tribe," who are determined to eliminate Cheetah once and for all. Hara, the San Tribe's leader, subdues Superman using a mystical horn, while Cheetah flees the scene. The League opts to divide their forces; Arthur, Diana, and Barry pursue Barbara, while Bruce and Victor remain with the San Tribe to assist in healing Superman. Hara applies blood to Clark's neck wound, neutralizing the Cheetah infection and restoring him. Flash and Wonder Woman confront Cheetah, who discloses that she has been tracking the San Tribe for days, as they seek her demise as well. Hara informs Batman that he has misconceptions about the Cheetah; for centuries, the San Tribe has coexisted with the Cheetahs, and with each generation, one individual is selected to embody the Goddess of the Hunt; the Cheetah. Hara reveals that her mother was the last true Cheetah of the Tribe, leading them until a hunter armed with the "Godslayer," a formidable blade reputed to have slain numerous gods over time, ended her life. Nonetheless, the spirit of the Cheetah goddess persisted, inhabiting the knife and cursing the hunter. Eventually, Barbara Minerva acquired the knife, using it to transform into the Cheetah. As long as Barbara lives, the Cheetah remains beyond the San Tribe's reach. Wonder Woman thrusts Cheetah into a river, enabling Arthur to detain her. The League incarcerates Barbara in Belle Reve, which aligns perfectly with her plans. Cheetah signals her superiors, indicating her successful infiltration of the prison and anticipation of Black Manta's arrival. Meanwhile, at the Watchtower, the League uncovers that Barbara was a notorious criminal prior to encountering Wonder Woman, and that "Barbara Minerva" is merely an alias. Contrary to belief, the Cheetah did not taint her; she tainted the Cheetah. In light of these discoveries, Superman escorts Wonder Woman to his hometown.
