Clark Kent Secures Employment: As the planet Krypton neared its destruction, a scientist sent his infant son to Earth in a rocket-ship. The child, discovered by John and Mary Kent, was temporarily placed in an orphanage due to his extraordinary strength. However, the Kents soon adopted him. Following his adoptive parents' demise, Clark Kent sought employment at the Daily Star but was rejected for his inexperience. A riot at the county jail provided an opportunity to showcase his abilities. Subduing the rioters, he gained information implicating singer Bea Carroll in the murder of Jack Kennedy, for which Evelyn Curry was framed. Presenting his findings to George Taylor, editor of the Daily Star, he secured a job. The Arrival of Superman: Superman confronts Bea Carroll at the Hilow Night Club, revealing his knowledge of her crime. This is followed by a narrative from Action Comics #1, "Superman, Champion of the Oppressed." Uprising in San Monte: This narrative is a reprint from Action Comics #2. The Blakely Mine Catastrophe: Reprinted from Action Comics #3. Superman, Football Star: This story is from Action Comics #4.
