"The Eternal Return Part 3 of 12: The Turning Tide" finds the Sons of Liberty aboard their benefactor's shift-ship, dining. Maiden America voices her concern for the American civilians caught in the crossfire, but Paul Revere reassures her that their mission against The Authority is complex, and their benefactor's plan is gaining traction with the American public turning against their rulers. After Johnny Rocketman is reprimanded for his racist behavior, Paul Revere checks on Fallout's condition and their benefactor. Upon learning Fallout is stable despite his excessive nuclear energy, Paul expresses to his benefactor the team's concern over the innocent lives lost in their attacks. The benefactor insists that these lives will be avenged and that the ultimate goal is to liberate America from The Authority. Curious about the new recruits to their cause, Paul learns they are in the ship's virtual reality room, ensuring they remember the crusade's core purpose. Inside, the recruits express their fury and disdain towards The Authority's menacing portrayals. Meanwhile, Jack Hawksmoor, The Doctor, and The Engineer review Hawksmoor's address to the Sons of Liberty, where he defends The Authority's actions in America and states that if the Sons choose to fight, they should avoid involving innocent civilians. Jeroen questions Hawksmoor's omission of the Shamanists' deaths from his speech. Hawksmoor explains he attempted to include the Shamanists but decided the final speech was too "complicated," believing that simplicity is most effective, a sentiment The Engineer shares. This pragmatic approach infuriates The Doctor, who confronts The Engineer's apathetic stance, highlighting the importance of acknowledging all victims.
