Warlock and the Infinity Watch #29

In "Poison," The Infinity Watch tries to question Maya upon her awakening. She persuades Warlock to have a private conversation, revealing that although Count Abyss had sent her to spy on him, she is actually collaborating with the resistance to overthrow Abyss. After consideration, Warlock agrees to form an alliance. Maya suggests they seal their partnership with a toast using the wine she has provided. Maya believes the wine is poisoned and she has the antidote, but unbeknownst to her, Abyss, observing from his realm, knows the antidote is bogus. Abyss revels in the success of his scheme as Warlock and Maya consume the potion, causing them to fall deeply in love with one another.
