"Domitian Over All" In the midst of battle, Moondragon probes Domitian's mind to uncover the source of his power. Zakaius and the Watch deduce that he's harnessing life force runes as energy, with each exertion costing a life that might be saved. In retaliation, Domitian strikes Moondragon, nearly ending her life and inciting Drax's fury. Warlock attempts to pacify Drax and maneuvers the conflict to prevent direct confrontation with Domitian, aiming to decelerate his rune consumption. Pip and Zakaius materialize in the control room to disconnect the link, confronting Kaef first. Pip distracts Kaef until he spies Domitian targeting Warlock, then teleports Kaef into the attack's trajectory, shocking Domitian upon realizing he has slain his own protector. Zakaius proceeds to dismantle Domitian's apparatus, reducing him to his frail, original state. Subsequently, Zakaius consents to revive the life force runes' victims, beginning with Firelord. Warlock channels Firelord's essence into his rune, prompting it to depart and reunite with his form. On Luarei, the inhabitants are amazed to see Firelord's body unscathed by the pyre, venerating him as a deity. They inter the body, and the youth who discovered it retains the staff as a sacred artifact. As Firelord's spirit reenters, it first animates the staff, which soars toward the crypt, capturing the locals' gaze. Upon Firelord's revival and ascent, they stand in awe, convinced they have observed a divine wonder.
