Warlock and the Infinity Watch #4

During an assault, Adam Warlock attempts to retaliate, but is hindered by foreign memories clouding his mind. Utilizing stealth, he manages to eliminate one attacker but encounters resistance from another. His Soul Gem inadvertently absorbs the man's soul, overwhelming Adam with unfamiliar memories and causing him to faint. Concurrently, Gamora and Moondragon are subdued by ultrasonics and taken captive by Omega, the group's leader. Nobilus stands as the final defender for the childlike High Evolutionary, fighting bravely before being overpowered. Adam Warlock, understanding the true nature of their assailants from Counter Earth—corrupted by Omega to despise their creator, the High Evolutionary—intervenes. Recognized as their savior who once sacrificed himself for their sins, Warlock implores them not to harm the High Evolutionary. Torn between duty and conscience, they succumb to internal conflict and self-destruct. Adam, disheartened by this outcome, departs to check on the Infinity Watch. Nobilus inquiries about the chosen bearers of the gems, prompting Adam to reflect on his choices, suspecting a grave error made under the sway of supreme power.
